THE INTENT OF THE BLUE DIAMOND BLOG IS TO GENERATE MORE DIALOGUE – WITH US, WITH A TEAMMATE, OR EVEN WITH A SPOUSE/SIGNIFICANT OTHER.
The goal is to share information, exchange ideas, implement and improve wherever applicable. A wise non-commissioned officer (NCO) once said: “Always improve your fighting position;” and that’s exactly what we seek to accomplish with this blog.
We will review cutting edge technologies, explore end-user anecdotes where they had a problem that could have or should have been solved by technology, and provide thoughts on random topics that we find interesting.
Dialogue…do we have enough of it? We all consume a variety of content, but how often do we really engage with the content and further the discussion(s)? Are the topics varied enough to be thought provoking, and even inspirational? Whether you get your information from Twitter, trade magazines, newspapers or blogs, we often overlook the steps in deriving value from it. So, what are those steps?
- Step 1: Consume – this is where we stop all too often.
- Step 2: Digest/reflect/incubate – it doesn’t always jump off the page at you.
- Step 3: Engage – create a dialogue to explore the content with others; this is where the most value is generated.
- Step 4: Implement – this step may not always be desired or required.
